Ignite Prism suggests the following IT checklist, which may need to be answered by the customer IT team and should be addressed prior to installation.
-
Each Ignite Prism camera uses PoE. Identify the location of the network and determine which port will be used on the network router for the PoE(s). If a PoE switch exists and that device will be used, identify which ports will be for the Ignite Prism cameras.
-
Ignite Prism cameras require inbound Port 443 to be open (firewall). Check communication to iapi.prismsl.net by pinging this hostname via the camera command line.
-
Determine if the internet connectivity is a dedicated source or if it will share this with other devices, as this can affect counting or other analytics. For example, limited bandwidth sites that share the network with other devices in-store (such as point-of-sale systems) may impact performance and inhibit the functioning of store operations and Ignite Prism’s ability to send information in a timely manner.
-
The average camera utilization is about 50 kbps/camera (upload). Depending on which settings are enabled (such as video cache, flipbook, etc.) the camera can utilize as much as 3 Mb/second per camera (3000 kbps/camera). See bandwidth requirements table in Site Environment Checklist article.
-
For a more seamless experience, we recommend the installation process be conducted via PC. You will need to connect the PC to the camera network and access the cameras. There will be several installation-specific software tools (i.e. TeamViewer, ISD or Axis Desktop Tools, Ignite Prism software, etc.) that may be used during the camera installation process. The complete software list will be established after the design plan is completed. As such, please determine if there are IT restrictions on the use of an external PC and software.
-
If the site uses a proxy server, Ignite Prism would advise providing networking specifics.
-
The cameras use DHCP by default. If DHCP will not be available, static IP addresses and network data are required for each camera prior to the pre-installation meeting.
-
Please run a bandwidth check to determine the available upload bandwidth.
